Interview with the Admin of LinkGrand
![]()
Hello everybody,
A few days back you all read our interview with Jim Grago. Today we have Garrett Rowland – the Admin of LinkGrand. Another very successful site which has been online since February, 2007.
For those who are not aware, LinkGrand is a profit sharing internet advertising company that will pay you to visit their advertiser’s websites. In short and simple words, a Paid-to-Click program. They show real ads purchased by real advertisers which is why they have stood the test of time. For more details about the program, you can read our full review of LinkGrand here.
Note : This interview is exclusive to my blog. You are free to reproduce parts of this interview on your own site but please provide a link back to this page.
So here we go.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. How long have you been working in this industry and how did you get involved with LinkGrand ?
I am 25 years old from the United States. I have been working online since I was about 12. I started just like most of my users, using any website I could to make money. Now helping others to make money online is my passion.
2. Besides obvious financial gain, what inspired you to open a PTC site ?
A very popular site I was using, that was similar to LinkGrand, just disappeared one day. I loved this site and wondered where it went. It didn’t return so I decided to build my own version.
3. Do you have a team/staff or do you manage your site on your own? Could you give us a little glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes ?
I play the biggest role, but do have a few highly trained employees to help keep the site running smoothly.
4. Which are the main factors you think are responsible for your site to gain this firm position and what has been your biggest success to date ?
LinkGrand prides itself on being fair to our members. We give a large portion of our advertising revenue back to our users. Most others sites are for profit – we are too, but it isn’t our top priority.
5. Let’s flip the previous question, what has been the biggest mistake you wish you had never made ?
Not keeping regular backups of data when I first started. We had a hard drive to fail, and spent weeks of nonstop work to recover from that. We wanted to do the right thing, so we re-ran all the ads and paid some members twice, which costs us a lot of money.
6. What do you think makes your site stand out from the crowd since there are literally hundreds of PTCs one can choose from ?
Many things. We have a simple site where users can earn cash easily. We have a solid business plan that allows us to continue forever.
7. Do you have any backup plans (considering you are dealing with just a single payment processor) in case you have problems with Paypal like account limitation since many PTCs have had problems with Paypal with the latest being MatrixMails (Est. 2002). What other resources can you utilize that can secure payments to members ?
Paypal backs LinkGrand 100% and we believe them to be a solid payment processor. However, if there ever were any problems, there are other similiar processor we could implement.
8. How have you managed to attract regular advertisers to your site all through these years when most sites find it the most difficult part leading to their downfall ?
Our advertisers see results and know that we are the best value for their money, so usually they keep coming back. My employees and I also work nonstop to promote LinkGrand to new users.
9. How do you feel about your major competitors like Wordlinx, ClixSense, MatrixMails and other established sites ?
Honestly, I’m not very familiar with any of them except Wordlinx. I think the owner there is a great guy and manages a solid program.
10. How secure is your site and members’ accounts from hackers? Do you have any kind of anti-DDoS protection ?
With a site like ours, security is our biggest concern. We want to protect our members’ money, as we do our own, and most of my time is spent doing so.
11. Are there any plans to further develop LinkGrand in the near future? Are there any changes or improvements that members can be excited about ?
Yes many and they are coming soon. When we first started, it was easy to make changes and implement them. Now that LinkGrand is larger than I ever dreamed, even the slightest change, takes time.
12. And finally is there anything else you wish to say which I have not covered in this interview ?
Thank you for the interview and everything you do to help inform users about our site!

Well, I had planned to read the Clixense Interview, but quite couldn't making it.
Now I read both of them & I want to say : Bravo ! Job well done.
The question set up was really very good & it has touched every part one can think of asking in a interview like this. Thanks to their originators.
Somebody was to take the initiative, & it's good that you have come forward with it.
From it, the "muggles" (us) get the chance to have an inside look in to the elite ones.

Are you a Harry Potter fan? I am asking since you mentioned the word "muggles"
I am a Harry Potter Fan. I read the books whenever I feel bored and still enjoy it even after reading it over a hundred times.
Anyways thanx for the appreciation. I am waiting for more than 10 days for a reply from Richard Sturdy (Wordlinx Admin) for the interview answers. I guess I have to send him a reminder.

Ah, nice to see you back here.
Yes, I'm a Harry Potter enthusiast , more with the books than the films. It's a pity the series of novels came to an end quite early. Apart from this, I love reading the novels & short stories of Holmes by Conan Doyle & also Science fiction works of Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury & Issac Asimov. These are my favorites.
And yes the interviews, were really very good in quality (as you wished) & looking eagerly for the Wordlinx to come.
Also Best of Luck on your planning to buy a new Macbook Pro. I haven't used it yet, so won't be able to give suggestions on it. But, you'll surely get some on the PTC-I's blog there.
Keep well.
So long .

Wow. Nice to find a Harry Potter lover among PTC users.I too love the books more than the movies. Honestly, they cut important parts of the book in the movies which makes it dull. Still, I'm eagerly waiting for the last part of the movie on the 22nd July.
Wordlinx is next up but I have to go out of town after a few days so if I do not receive the answers from the Wordlinx Admin before that, it will again be delayed. Since I do this in my part-time, I hope you can understand my time constraints. But, I assure that the interview will be published.
I am excited about owning a MacBook. I am searching on various forums about it so that I can choose the right model with the right configuration to suit my needs.
Take care and keep visiting.

Cool! Another talk with an Elite admin. Very nice.
Where is the picture from Garrett?
Do you know which popular site he meant in Q2 ?
The answer to Q5 is funny. Paying members twice? Typically Garret. Always generous.
I'm still upgraded although my yearly upgrade should have ended more than 2 months ago.
I've sent a support ticket and Jessica told me that she will forward this to Garrett but until know i got no response and i'm still a Premium member.
I told Jessica that there are $20 waiting for a lifetime upgrade, but it seems that Garrett likes it more to make the people happy than earning some extra money.

Thanx KJ.
Where is the picture from Garrett?
Check the email I sent you on December 2, 2010.
Do you know which popular site he meant in Q2 ?
I don't really know and can't really guess. Perhaps you can create a poll on your site for this
The answer to Q5 is funny. Paying members twice? Typically Garret. Always generous.
I won't say its funny but that is how a serious business actually works. You will have to take the losses head on if its your fault even if it was not deliberate. Garrett learnt from it and look where his site is today. Hats off to Garrett for pulling it off since many people would have quit or either scammed if they weren't serious about running this business.
I'm still upgraded although my yearly upgrade should have ended more than 2 months ago.
You have your answer now.

hehe* no… i meant: "Where is the picture from Garret here in your interview?

Wouldn't it be great to see to whom you've talked?
Maybe you might ask Garrett before you publish it here but i would find it great to see it here
greets!

Ok. I'll put forward your request and see if Garrett agrees

Number 5 for me was interesting to read. It is good to hear that they did everything in their power to make up for the common mistake. I am sure it was costly and he learned from it greatly.
Thanks again for sharing and I will definitely add this link to our review.

Thanx. I am not really very good at interviewing. In fact, the interview with Jim was my debut
Yes, Q5 was the most interesting one to read. Also Q2 has made me curious.

I'm totally agree with PTCI on this point:
Interviewing owners is definitely your strength
Indeed, these interviews are the ones make your site stand from the others. I'm inspired. Keep them coming, PTCS

Thanx for the compliment
Its already been around 4-5 days since I sent the questions to the Wordlinx Admin. So the next interview should be up soon, probably next week.
I see. Eagerly waiting for the next interview.
More and more people will realize soon that real PTC sites are what they can rely on.

Another Great Interview ! How do you come up with such questions ?
Thanx.
All questions are not my own. I asked a lot of users (on PTC Investigations and EMS) for their advice and what questions they would like to ask to PTC Admins. Most questions were pretty amateur relating to how much the owner earns.
I chose the best among all the questions I received.

Almost all of whatever you articulate is astonishingly precise and it makes me wonder why I hadn’t looked at this with this light before. This particular article really did turn the light on for me as far as this specific subject matter goes. Nevertheless there is actually one factor I am not really too cozy with and while I attempt to reconcile that with the actual main idea of the issue, let me observe just what the rest of the readers have to say.Nicely done.

I want to say that My favorite Warren Buffett quote is this: We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.

I would have deleted your comment but because I found that quote interesting, I'll leave your comment as it is.
But please refrain from posting these off-topic comments.
